Brow Lift

This procedure is performed to raise the eyebrows, smooth the forehead, and minimize frown lines that come from aging. Dr. Virden no longer uses the old-style coronal brow lift which required an incision from ear to ear. The newest technique is called Endoscopic Brow Lift in which the surgeon makes four small incisions in the scalp less than one inch in length.

An endoscope, a pencil-thin camera, is introduced through the incision to visualize the forehead under the skin. The attachments to the underlying brow bone are released, the forehead skin is then lifted, and the muscles and tissues are altered to produce a smoother appearance. A key point in lifting the eyebrows is to lift the outer aspect more than the inner aspect to create a beautiful and natural arch to the brow.

This technique is also notable in achieving a superior result with no hair loss or distortion of the hair line. Endoscopic Brow lifting takes about 45 minutes to perform and most patients are up and about in a few days and back to their normal routine.
