HALO Laser Treatment

Ready to reveal a radiant, more youthful you? Our HALO laser treatment offers a comprehensive solution for a variety of skin concerns, all in one powerful treatment.

HALO Laser Treatment In Reno

The HALO laser addresses surface imperfections while stimulating deep collagen production within your skin. This innovative technology uses two laser wavelengths to do this:

  1. Non-Ablative Wavelength penetrates deeper layers to stimulate collagen production, promoting tighter skin and a more firm appearance.
  2. Ablative Wavelength targets the surface of your skin, removing sun damage and evening out skin tone.

We’ll combine these two wavelengths in one treatment to offer a more customized procedure for your needs and to provide better results.

Compared to traditional laser treatments, HALO offers a faster recovery time—allowing you to get back to your routine sooner—and can be safely used on a variety of skin tones with minimal risk of complications.

What to Expect During Your HALO Laser Treatment

Your provider will then use a handheld device to deliver ablative (surface-level) and non-ablative (deeper) laser wavelengths to the targeted area. You may feel warmth or prickling. To help manage pain during your HALO laser treatment, we provide three solutions:

  1. A topical numbing cream, which we prescribe and you apply one hour before coming to your appointment.
  2. A “laughing gas,” called ProNox, which you’ll inhale throughout your procedure to help ease pain and anxiety. ProNox is a combination of 50 percent oxygen and 50 percent nitrous oxide. ProNox leaves your system 10 to 15 minutes post-treatment.
  3. A cooling hose that blows cold air on the treatment area. You are in control of the cooling hose to apply wherever you feel discomfort.

Treatment lasts 30 to 90 minutes depending on the size of the area we’re treating and the complexity. Always tell your provider if you’re experiencing pain.

What to Expect After Your HALO Laser Treatment?

You may experience some minor pinpoint bleeding immediately after your treatment. This is normal and disappears within 24 hours.

Your total recovery time from this treatment is five to seven days. During the first few days, you may experience some redness, swelling, and a warm sensation (like a sunburn). Two to three days post-treatment you may notice tiny dark spots called microscopic epidermal necrotic debris (MENDS). Don’t be alarmed—this is a sign of healing and they will naturally shed.

Moving into the final few days, you may experience tightness and dryness, and your skin might feel rough. This is temporary and also part of the healing process.

We’ll walk you through the appropriate post-treatment steps once the procedure is finished, but you can expect to regularly keep your skin moisturized and avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for about one to two days.

HALO Laser Treatment FAQs

A HALO laser is a device used to treat a number of skin conditions including fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, sun damage, and enlarged pores, among others. It uses two laser wavelengths to tackle both surface layers and deeper layers of your skin to achieve smoother, brighter, and younger-looking skin.

HALO laser treatment targets a number of skin conditions using two laser wavelengths to produce smoother and improved skin. HALO laser treatment can target fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, sun damage and age spots, enlarged pores, scars, skin laxity and sagging, and hyperpigmentation and melasma.

You’ll first schedule a consultation to discuss your goals and suitability. Once you move forward with the treatment, your provider will discuss specific steps to prepare. You can expect to avoid sun exposure, discontinue harsh skincare products, and stop certain medications as advised by your clinician one week prior.

BBL stands for BroadBand Light therapy. It is a different procedure than a HALO laser.

HALO laser treatment combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to address concerns like wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, and acne scars. It creates microscopic injuries in your skin, triggering your body’s natural healing response to produce new collagen and elastin for improved skin texture and a more youthful appearance.

BroadBand Light (BBL) is a treatment that uses intense pulses of light to target specific chromophores (light-absorbing molecules) in your skin. BBL addresses concerns like pigmentation issues—sun damage, age spots, freckles, and hyperpigmentation—and vascular concerns, like redness, rosacea, and small spider veins.

We also offer BBL therapy. Schedule a call with us to discuss which option is right for you.
