The most recent addition to the Juvéderm family of injectable dermal fillers is Juvéderm Volbella XC, which is designed to add subtle amounts of volume to the lips while smoothing vertical lip lines.

Volbella can be injected into either the upper lip, lower lip, or both for a natural-looking increase. Volbella is a great option for patients who have naturally thin lips or who have lost volume in their lips from aging. Using a soft, smooth gel, Volbella improves the appearance of the lips enough to make an improvement, but not so much that patients look like they’ve had lip augmentation.
Ideal VOLBELLA® Candidates
The best candidates for Volbella injectable treatments want a subtle increase in lip volume and have:
- Lost volume in their lips due to aging
- Naturally thin lips
- Vertical lip lines
What to expect during your breast lift
Usually, patients are able to receive their first Volbella injection right after their consultation in the office. The lips and surrounding area will be cleaned and prepped before the injections are carefully placed in specific points of the lips (e.g. vermilion body, philtral columns, Vermilion border, Cupid’s bow). Patients will be able to leave the office right after their treatment and resume their normal activities.

Volbella patients will see an increase in lip volume and reduction in lip lines for up to one year after their treatment. Patients should schedule follow-up appointments to maintain their results. In Juvéderm surveys, 80% of patients were happy with their Volbella results one year after their injection. 75% were satisfied with the improvement in vertical lip lines one year after their treatment.
